Confession:
I really love Dutch West.
Shocker, I know. I will give you a few seconds to regain your composure.
Ready? Ok.
I have been watching a lot of fan made videos for CollegeHumor. A lot. So, I decided to go on a search for DW fan vids. I couldn’t find any. I felt this needed to be taken care of. So I did this.
These are clips from some of my favorite videos. I couldn’t get Bigfoot child molester and the Robert DeNiro back in time clips to work so they didn’t make it in :( But watch past the credits for a little extra DW.
Maybe I will have to attempt another one.
(Also, I think I need to invest in something other than Windows Movie Maker…)
This is awesome!
THANK YOU RAYANN!
Some people have been calling me the "Dutch West go-to girl" Hahaha.
This amuses me. I like that. I think I will keep that title.
Anyway, I have been asked numerous times if I knew where the name “Dutch West” came from. I remembered reading it somewhere but could not place where. Then I
creepedstumbled upon this:John: Why the name Dutch West?
Sam: Dutch West is a tribute to the Dutch West India Company, the Dutch settlers of NYC. We’re the Dutch West Internet Company. The god of puns just secured me a place in heaven.
Originally we were iTV New York, or Internet Television, but our lawyers advised us that we were infringing on iTV Britain’s copyright. Then we wanted to be Donald Sutherland, but they said, “Yeah, that’s no better.” I still think that would be an incredible name for a troupe. “In honor of the dead actor… may he rest in peace.” Then New Amsterdam, but there’s already New Amsterdam entertainment. They’re responsible for the made-for-TV Steven King’s “Langoliers” with “Perfect Strangers’” Bronson Pinchot. Who could forget it? Then finally Dutch West. So the name wasn’t easy.Read the rest here!
Wow, Rayann conjured this ancient Dutch West article.
Watch the film in it’s entirety free on Hulu! Check out my very brief cameo at 14:17.
Vince, Elaine and Matt cameo in Sweaty Robot’s awesome indie feature!
